Over the past twenty years, Sotravic has used its increasing experience, extensive plant and equipment resources and financial strength to consolidate its position as market leader in the field of pipelaying. With this objective Sotravic has combined forces with international contractors to obtain 4 of the 5 largest sewer construction projects awarded to date in Mauritius.
- The first of these was in a consortium with Patel Engineering of India, which was awarded the MUR 464 million contract for the construction of the sewer network, including 2 remotely operated pumping stations, in Baie du Tombeau.
- The second was a 30% participation in a joint venture with Chinese Beijing Construction Engineering Group (BCEG) which obtained a MUR 2.1 billion contract for the construction of sewers for Lot 2 in the Plaines Wilhems.
- The third was another joint venture with BCEG in a 50% participating for a MUR 800 million contract for the construction of Lot 1B of the sewer network of Plaines Wilhems.
