Opened in October 2001, the attractive architecture of the Sands Resort & Spa is framed by landscaped gardens - overlooking a beautiful 800 ft sandy beach at Wolmar near Flic en Flac on Mauritius' west coast. It boasts wide views across the lagoon and Tamarin Bay to the majestic Le Morne Mountain. Relatively small in scale, The Sands has an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that will appeal especially to couples and those seeking a quieter setting - though the activities of Flic en Flac and other hotels are only a short drive away.

The hotel consists of 91 Deluxe Rooms of 52.5m2 including 5 sets of interconnecting rooms, all with a balcony or a terrace with sea view including 5 sets of interconnecting rooms.

All the rooms have either king size bed or twin beds and are equipped with individual air-conditioning units, IDD telephones with voice mail system, electronic safe, minibar, TV with local and satellites channels, wifi facility and tea/coffee making facilities.

The very spacious bathrooms have separate shower cabins with glass doors, bathtubs and toilets. They are also equipped with hair dryer, sockets for electric shaver (220 V) and a walk-in wardrobe with full a length mirror.
