The Islamic Cultural Centre (ICC) is a key institution in Mauritius with the primary objective of preserving and promoting the authentic and perennial values of Islam and hence, promoting Islamic Arts and Culture.

It has also the mission of promoting the study of Arabic and Urdu, and to provide training in relevant fields of study.

It also provides an important link with the major Islamic socio-cultural Organizations in the Country.

  • The objectives of the Ministry would be resumed as follows:-

    • to preserve and foster cultural values both at individual and collective levels;

  • The National Computer Board (NCB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and the Ministry of Women's Rights, Child Development and Family Welfare organised a Round Table session on Thursday the 14th May 2009 at 9.00 am at the Swami Vivekananda Conference Centre, Pailles, to finalise the legal measures recommended in the Child Safety Online Action Plan. The round table was launched by the Hon. Asraf Dulull, Minister of Information and Communications Technology.

    Preamble:

  • Today Mauritius is a republic within the Commonwealth with a population of 1.2 million. Being a multi-cultural society, the Mauritian polulation enjoy a rich ethnic background, consisting of Hindus, Muslims, Tamils, Blacks of African and Madagascan descents, Whites of French descents, Mulattos and Chinese. The main religions are Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. However other religious denominations also flourish. This is a small country where religious festivals, rituals, customs and traditions abound in all their splendours.

  • The National Computer Board (NCB) was set up in 1988 by the National Board Act (Act No.43) to promote the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Mauritius. It is a para-statal body administered by a Board of Directors and operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

    The ICT Incubator Centre was set up to promote entrepreneurship development and boost job creation through the provision of logistical and business support to start ups in the ICT sector.

  • The Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in 1850, is the oldest non-profit institution representing the private sector in Mauritius. With the increase in the island's volume of trade during the first decades of British administration, the Mauritian business community felt the need for a formal representational and arbitration framework to foster the interests of the trading community and to settle disputes and conflicts arising in trade-related activities.
