Ireland Blyth Limited was incorporated as a private company on 14th July 1972 following the merger of Blyth Brothers & Co. Ltd and Ireland Fraser & Co. Ltd, both of which had been trading in Mauritius since the early nineteenth century.
Ireland Blyth Limited remained a private company until 1994 when it was converted into public and was admitted on the Official List of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
The liner agency Blyth Brothers operate as an independent subsidiary and represents major shipping lines which link Mauritius to worldwide destinations.
IBL Shipping Agency handles non-liner vessel calls in Mauritius, Rodrigues and other SW Indian Ocean islands, besides providing operational support to the Group's liner agencies.
IBL is the Mauritian member of the Multiport Ship Agencies Network which covers 1300 ports in over 100 countries.
