Combatting corruption in Mauritius
Allegations of corruption have become common features in the press worldwide and Mauritius is no exception. Here are some indications that confirm the urgency of the situation:
In the Transparency International 1998 Corruption Perception Index, released in September 1998, Mauritius scored 5 out of 10 and was ranked 33rd out of a total of 85 countries;

Tertiary Education Commission
The Tertiary Education Commission has as objects to promote, plan, develop and coordinate post-secondary education in Mauritius and to implement an overarching regulatory framework to achieve high international quality. It also has the responsibility to allocate government funds to the Tertiary Education Institutions under its purview and to ensure accountability and optimum use of resources.

Mission:
National Computer Board
The National Computer Board (NCB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and the Ministry of Women's Rights, Child Development and Family Welfare organised a Round Table session on Thursday the 14th May 2009 at 9.00 am at the Swami Vivekananda Conference Centre, Pailles, to finalise the legal measures recommended in the Child Safety Online Action Plan. The round table was launched by the Hon. Asraf Dulull, Minister of Information and Communications Technology.

Industrial and Vocational Training Board
The Industrial and Vocational Training Board, set up under the IVT Act No.8 of 1988, became operational in 1989.
It was assigned the roles of regulator, facilitator, and provider of training. In 2001, Government decided that the organisation would focus on its role as an enhanced provider of training, leaving the regulatory role to the Mauritius Qualifications Authority, and the role of facilitator to the Human Resource Development Council. The IVT Act was subsequently amended.

General Functions and Administration
The Ministry operates under the portfolio of the Minister of Health and Quality of Life.
The functions of the Ministry are:
