The Mauritius Chemical & Fertilizer Industry Ltd. (MCFI) began operations in 1975 as a manufacturer of Complex NPK fertilizers and supplier of straight fertilizers to the local agricultural community.

The objectives of the company are to achieve national self sufficiency in fertilizers as well as price competitiveness and stability of supply.

MCFI also exports to regional countries, that is, Indian Ocean Islands and East African Countries.
