Central Electricity Board
The Central Electricity Board (CEB) is a parastatal body wholly owned by the Government of Mauritius and reporting to the Ministry of Renewable Energy and Public Utilities. Established in 1952 and empowered by the Central Electricity Board Act of 25 January 1964, the CEB's business is to "prepare and carry out development schemes with the general object of promoting, coordinating and improving the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity" in Mauritius.

The Public Infrastructure Division of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Land Transport & Shipping is responsible for the implementation of Road, Bridge and Government Building infrastructural projects.
To construct, embellish, preserve and enrich the built and unbuilt environment in the interest of functionality, aesthetics, public health, safety, welfare and culture conducive to efficiency and comfort for the users and the public at large.
Ministry of Local Government, Rodrigues and Outer Islands
The Ministry is responsible for local government administration coordination generally, with five Municipalities, four District Councils and 124 Village Councils. Over and above their own revenue-generating activities, central government grants are made to the local authorities to enable them to provide services and amenities at regional level. These include the provision of street-lighting, construction and maintenance of roads, drains and public spaces, provision and maintenance of bus shelters and traffic centres, organisation of sports and cultural activities, etc.
Ministry of Agriculture, Food Technology and Natural Resources
Mauritius is a small island of 1,965 square kilometers (186,475 hectares) tucked in the South West Indian Ocean, in latitude 20 degrees South and longitude 57 degrees east. To its west, at some 2,000 km is the African Continent, Mozambique and at some 855 km is Madagascar. In 2000, the population of Mauritius was estimated at around 1.2 million.
Excursions
